Should I tip my guide?

We get lots of questions from our guests about guide gratuities. Our guides work hard to give you a great river experience. Tips are certainly appreciated but not mandatory. It’s up to you to decide whether your guide provided a great service.

If you decide to tip your guide, 15-20% of the trip cost is a good guideline. You can hand cash to your guide or we provide envelopes in our office for cash and a note. If you don’t have cash but still want to tip your guide, checks or credit card tips also work. Just talk to one of our friendly reservationists who will be glad to help you.

For overnight trips, you can tip guides individually, or feel free to give the tip to the trip leader and he/she will divvy it up amongst the other guides on the trip.

However and whatever you decide is appropriate, your guides will truly appreciate your gesture!
