Self Guided Trips
Interested in rafting along Glacier National Park but want to do it on your own?
Not interested in a guided trip? Are you more of a do-it-yourself explorer? Self-guided may be just what you are looking for. Every day during the summer and fall months, we have self-guided trips departing at 9:30am. These trips are perfect for groups looking to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Glacier National Park and the river at their own pace. Self guided trips float 11 miles on the scenic section of the Middle Fork of the Flathead River so even the most inexperienced rafters are able to go at it alone.
Guests are asked to show up at Glacier Outdoor Center 30 minutes prior to their trip departure. One of our helpful guides will drive down to the take-out (ending point) while you follow along in your vehicle. Once we have your vehicle parked at the take-out, we then shuttle you back to the put-in at West Glacier. After a few minutes of gearing up, paddling instruction, a safety talk and observing your ability to handle the raft, we send you off to start your adventure on the river. For the rest of the day, enjoy the beautiful waters of the Middle Fork of the Flathead River and the spectacular scenery of Glacier National Park. Stop and have lunch, take a swim or do a little fishing. You’re on river time now. Once you finish up at the take-out, either bring the raft back to Glacier Outdoor Center or leave it at the take-out for us to pick up (for a small fee).
