Orvis Fly Fishing 101 Class Agenda
Our guides will spend 1 hour of fun instruction teaching the basics of fly casting, showing examples of the equipment needed, demonstrating knot tying and and finally giving an overview of entomology and flies. The class is hands on and will allow time for everyone to have a chance holding a fly rod and practice casting on their own.
Orvis 210 Program
Orvis 201 is a continuation of our Orvis 101 fly fishing instruction. Now that you’ve been taught the basics of fly fishing it’s time to wet your line in one of our private ponds located behind Glacier Outdoor Center. Our Orvis 201 program is the middle step between a fully guided fly fishing river trip and the basic instruction given during Orvis 101.
Orvis 201 is a guided pond fish where you’ll be able to put into practice what you’ve learned during Orvis 101. This guided trip is price conscious compared to a fully guided fly fishing river trip and does not require a Montana State fishing license. Like the Orvis 101 instruction, our guides will provide all of the equipment needed for this trip.
Orvis 301 Program
Orvis 301 is a guided fly fishing trip on the river. Available as either a half day or full day guided experience, this trip represents the culmination of the Orvis fly fishing learning program. Like all of our guided trips as, all equipment and shuttles are included in the price of the trip.
