Learn The Basics Of Fly Fishing
Our Introduction to Fly Fishing Class teaches you the foundations of fly fishing right outside Glacier National Park. This is the perfect opportunity and environment for learning the art of fly fishing. You will practice technique and gain confidence from one of our skilled instructors. This class is best suited for families or beginners new to fly fishing.
All necessary equipment is included to participate in our class. If you do have fly equipment, feel free to bring it. We are happy to verify that it is rigged correctly and ready to fish. You also do not need a Montana fishing license.
What you will cover in our introduction class:
- Fly casting technique
- Essential fly fishing knots
- How to choose your gear and tackle
- Stream entomology (the science of insects)
- Proper fly selection
- How to play, land, and safely release a fish
All fishing trips depart from Glacier Outdoor Center. Check-in 30 minutes prior to trip departure.
