Great Bear Wilderness Fly Fishing
This past summer, Glacier Anglers had the pleasure of taking the Vice President of Orvis Merchandise Operations and Planning, Frazier Blair, on our Great Bear Wilderness fly fishing trip. Check out what she had to say!
If you’re looking for a truly unique fly fishing experience, consider joining us on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River in the Great Bear Wilderness. In a world that’s getting more crowded by the day, finding your own private place on the river is becoming extremely difficult. Fortunately, the Upper Middle Fork provides us one of those rare diamonds in the rough. It’s a place that’s as untouched by man as when Lewis and Clark first headed out west. While many know of its existence, the river’s accessibility is closely guarded by miles of trail and technical water. Furthermore, horse packers are becoming a dying breed and just getting your boat to the river, not to mention the rest of your food and fishing gear can be a logistical nightmare without them.
Glacier Anglers has been at it a long time, almost 40 years, and we can take you to the place where you’ll learn the true meaning of God’s Country and where the fish caught can reach triple digits. Often times, the duration of the trip is spent without seeing another soul other than a member of your group. Our guides are professional and personable and will have you on fish almost immediately after arriving to the river’s edge. From that point on, the next 4 days are yours to spend fishing, relaxing and sitting around the camp fire enjoying time with your friends and family.
