Glacier Raft Company was chosen as a Green Business by Glacier National Park. Our livelihood is based on land, rivers, and abundant natural resources, so we strive to practice sustainable “Leave No Trace” ethics during our daily operations.
Largest Outfitter on Flathead River
Glacier Raft Company has the most extensive use permit in Glacier Country. Glacier Raft Company can take you there if you want to raft or fish the Great Bear Wilderness, Middle Fork, North Fork, or Main Stem of the Flathead River.
Top Tier Rafts and Equipment
Glacier Raft Company uses new AIRE self-bailing rafts and state-of-the-art equipment. We have two different size rafts that can accommodate either 6 or 10 people.
Glacier Raft Company is the only river outfitter located in the town of West Glacier. This results in the shortest shuttle times and the most accessible access to the river. We also operate Glacier Outdoor Center, which has our renowned West Glacier Cabins, fishing, trout ponds, horseshoes, volleyball, picnic/dinner pavilions, and conference rooms.
Origins of Glacier Raft Company
In 1976, Onno Wieringa and Darwon Stoneman had a wild idea: take their two rafts and one van and start a whitewater rafting company. People thought they were all wet – but the business grew rapidly.
Darwon and Terri Stoneman, their son D.J. Stoneman, their daughter Cassie Baldelli and son-in-law Jeff Baldelli provided rafting and fishing on some of Montana’s most acclaimed rivers, plus access to the legendary Glacier National Park and Great Bear Wilderness.
Today, Pursuit continues the tradition of providing the same exciting experiences as Glacier Raft Company joins its’ Glacier National Park Collection. We are the longest-running river outfitter in Montana and the only one in the village of West Glacier. Over 700,000 visitors have enjoyed our whitewater rafting, fly fishing, horseback riding trips, cozy log cabins, and 100% natural Montana hospitality. In short, this is one terrific vacation spot – even if you do get wet.
